Father, in thy gracious keeping, Leave me now thy servant sleeping. - John Ellerton, 1870 The death of Brian occurred on January 10th, 2009 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital at the age of 51. He was the son of the late Robert and Donna (Moore) McLaughlin, and husband to Caroline Giles McLaughlin. Brian is survived by his wife, Caroline; his sons, Nicholas and Samuel; siblings, Cheryl Noble, Michael, Janice and Peter McLaughlin; his cousin, Rick Williams; Caroline's parents, Robert and Catherine Giles as well as his best friends, Lyle Bongard and his nephew Matt. A lifelong resident of Rusagonis, Brian was a gentle spirit who enjoyed sharing his love of the outdoors with his children and their friends by building a treehouse, making campfires and many other imaginative activities. He loved all sports both as a participant and a fan, especially Nick's football and hockey games. In more recent years as his mobility was decreasing, Brian spent time at home feeding Sam's thirst for knowledge. He greatly enjoyed time shared with his friends and family at the camp on Taxis River. There will be a private family service on Tuesday, January 13th, 2009 at 11:00 am from the Rusagonis Baptist Church where Brian was a member, with Rev. Brent MacDonald officiating.
