
ROBERT WILLIAM JACKSON
JACKSON, ROBERT WILLIAM The passing of Robert William Jackson, husband of the late Helen (Wilson) Jackson, of Fredericton, NB, occurred on Sunday, January 11, 2009 at home. Born on August 18, 1940 in Scotch Lake, he was a son of the late William and Laura (Barton) Jackson. He was a member of the Mactaquac Baptist Church where he held many offices. Robert was a kind and gentle man always willing to help out in anyway. He worked as a surveyor around the province in early years and then worked for the Dept. of Agriculture at the Research Station. His most recent job was supplying civic numbers for local residents. Every year he enjoyed working and meeting people at the Fredericton Exhibition. Robert was a former Scout Leader and was greatly involved in his community. He was member of the KRLSD and the KR Historical Society. He had a deep interest in history and stories of this area, researching and recording life on the Vanished Village of Jewett Mills. Robert was presently working on the history of Scotch Lake. He had a great interest in genealogy, recording his family history. Well known for his beautiful flower gardens, where the local youth gathered for prom pictures. He was a man of many interests, a miniature model builder of historic homes and churches, a pin and stamp collector. Robert by his frequent presence gained a symbolic ownership in Tim Horton's. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Robert is survived by two sons, Mark (Jackie) and Troy Jackson all of Calgary, AB; grandchildren, Lindsay and Christopher Bruce and Alyssa Garand; three precious great grandchildren, Madalyn, Lydia and McKenna; brother, Edward Jackson of Toronto; several nieces and nephews. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Wednesday, January 14, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at Mactaquac Baptist Church on Thursday, January 15, 2009 at 2 pm with Pastor Chad Fletcher officiating. Interment will take place in Mactaquac Baptist Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick.
