HENRY E. GOGUEN

GOGUEN, HENRY E. It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of Henry E. Goguen of Minto, N.B. He died peacefully on Thursday, January 29th at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital at the age of 89. Born in Memramcook, NB, he was the son of Patrick and Lodia (Martin). Henry was a D-day veteran and served for 5 years with the 12th Field Regiment R.C.A. and was wounded in France. On his return to Minto, after the war, he worked in the underground coal mines and as foreman for V.C. McMann Ltd. until underground mining was phased out. He then worked as a construction supervisor. In 1980, he began developing the Printz Cove Berry Farm, which became his passion and proved very popular in Minto and area. Henry is survived by his loving wife, Anna (Kulimowski) of 63 years, their two sons, Edward (Patricia) of Fredericton, Karl (Jeannine) of Prince Cove, NB, three wonderful granddaughters: Monique (Tim) Paterson, Perth Australia, Taunya (Larry) Tremblay, Ottawa, Lisa, Montreal, two delightful great-grandchildren - Amelia Tremblay and Douglas Henry Paterson, and several devoted nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, two sisters, Gertrude Shaban, Rita Caissie and one brother Joseph Goguen. The family will receive visitors at the Minto Funeral Home on Sunday, Feb. 1st at 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. A memorial service will be held at St. Michaels and All Angels Anglican Church on Monday at 11:00 am. Internment will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Michaels Church or to any charity of the donor's choice. The Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 12 will hold a tribute service 7PM Sunday evening. www.mintofh.com
