RYAN, ROYDEN D. The passing of Royden Ryan occurred at York Manor Nursing Home in Fredericton on January 30th, 2009, at the age of 94. Born in Fredericton, NB, on January 20th, 1915, he was a son of the late Ernest and Kathleen (Donovan) Ryan. Royden was a stone mason most of his working life to the age of 60. He then worked as caretaker at Evelyn Grove Manor in Fredericton for the next 14 years. He is survived by a son, J. Patrick Ryan (Darlene); a granddaughter, Lauren; four sisters, Jean Jarvis of Fredericton, Margaret "Peggy" Murray of Fredericton, Gwen Brown of Saint John, Barbara Ralph of Saint John's, NL; nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his wife, Joan of 62 years; a sister; and five brothers. Royden's request for no visitation will be respected. A service will be held Tuesday, February 3rd, 2009 at 2pm from Bishop's Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton. Rev. Paul Ross will officiate. No flowers please, memorials to York Foundation Inc. or St. Paul's United Church Restoration Fund would be appreciated by the family. Interment at a later date.
