HOWARD WENDELL MCLAUGHLIN
MCLAUGHLIN, HOWARD WENDELL Wendell McLaughlin, formerly of Fredericton, passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville, Ontario, on Sunday, February 1st, 2009, in his 86th year. He was a WWII Veteran and a Legion Branch 43 member for over 50 years. He is survived by sisters Doris Whiting (Dick) of Virginia and Jean Kitchen (Reginald) of Fredericton, as well as by many nieces and nephews throughout Canada and the United States. He was predeceased by his parents Howard and Blanche McLaughlin; brothers Harold and Ralph; sisters Ethel, Tracey and Blanchie Gay. Wendell will be dearly missed by close friends and caregivers Fred and Carol MacDonald of Oshawa. Appreciation goes out to them, to the caring staff of Strathaven, and to the staff of Lakeridge Health Bowmanville. To honour Wendell's wishes there will be no formal service. A graveside prayer service will be held on Friday, February 6th, at 11 a.m., at Thornton Cemetery, Oshawa. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Oshawa Funeral Home, 847 King Street West, Oshawa, Ontario. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 43, in Wendell's memory.
