BIRD, HELEN ANNETTE Helen Annette (Hanson) Bird, of Burtt's Corner, NB, loving wife of Donald Edison Bird, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Helen was born at Greenhill Lake, Lower Hainesville, NB, she was a daughter of the late Cecil and Jane (Seymour) Hanson. Before Helen's illness, she was a member of the Burtt's Corner Lioness, enjoyed working for her community and loved spending time with her family and friends. In addition to her husband Donald, whom she was happily married to for 47 years, Helen is survived by her four children, Donna Annette McKeil and her friend (Eric L. Brewer), Kimberly Helen Hawkins (Terry), Jeffrey Donald Bird all of Burtt's Corner and Jamie Winslow Bird (Kelley) of Keswick Ridge; five grandchildren, Shane Terry Hawkins (Angela), Greggory Robert McKeil, Brittney Megan McKeil all of Burtt's Corner, Isabella (Belle) Helen Jane Bird and Noah James Bird of Keswick Ridge; two great grandchildren, Cody David Hawkins and Claire Grace Hawkins of Burtt's Corner; son-in-law, Gary McKeil of Upper Keswick and beloved dog, Elmo. Helen was the twelfth child of thirteen; these children had a proud and happy childhood. Helen is survived by six sisters, Lillian Smith (Harry) of Fredericton, Beatrice Johnson of Hainesville, Rowena Estey and her friend (George Lively) of Nashwaak Village, Evelyn Waugh (Lloyd) of Douglas, Yvonne Billings of Hainesville and Jean Gruchy (Don) of Fredericton. She was predeceased by her brother, Douglas Hanson; five sisters, Dorothy McCann, Pauline Godsoe, Merena Brown, Eileen Hanson and Carolyn Brewer. Visitation will take place, after cremation, at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Memorial Service will be held from York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Saturday, March 7, 2009 at 2 pm with Rev. David Wellwood officiating.
