HICKEY, GUY THOMAS "BUDDY" The death of Guy Thomas Hickey, husband of Alice (Jewett) Hickey of Lincoln, NB, occurred at the Oromocto Public Hospital on Sunday, May 3rd, 2009. Born in Fredericton, NB on July 1st, 1930, he was the son of the late Guy T. Hickey and Kathleen E. (Doherty) Hickey. Buddy was retired from the Royal Canadian Armed Forces. He is survived by his wife Alice, his four children, Peter Hickey (Marg) of Lincoln, NB, Stephen Hickey (Mary) of Fredericton, NB, Joyce Hudlin (Arthur) of Toronto, ON as well as Donald Hickey (Sherry) of North Gower, ON; four sisters, Esther Davis, of Green Hill Lake, NB, Margaret Goodine of Alberta, Norma Kelly of Maugerville, NB and Jackie Hennessey of Barrie, ON, seven grandchildren, Shelly (Hickey) Jones, Thomas Hickey, Andrea Hickey, Derek Hickey, Michael Hudlin, Megan Hickey and Mikyla Hickey and two great-grandchildren, Alicia and Callum Jones. Buddy was predeceased by his parents, one brother, Donald Hickey and two sisters, Dorothy "Dolly" Powers and Patricia Jewett. The family will receive visitors at McAdam's Select Community Funeral Home, 160 York Street, Fredericton, on Tuesday, May 5th, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, Lincoln, on Wednesday, May 6th, 2009 at 12:00 noon with Fr. Monte Peters as celebrant. Interment will take place in the adjoining cemetery. Thanks to the Oromocto Public Hospital Palliative Care, Saint John Dialysis nurses, Extra-mural nurses, Dr. Reid and most especially Dr. Peter Fraser and the anonymous heart donor from Western Canada for the last twenty and a half years. For those who wish, memorial tributes made to the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation, Kidney Foundation of Canada or to the charity of the donors choice would be appreciated by the family. www.mcadamsfh.com
