KENNEDY, CHARLES ROBERT The death of Charles Robert Kennedy of Douglas Harbour, NB occurred Wednesday, May 06, 2009 at the Chalmer's Regional Hospital. Born in Hibernia, NB, he was the son of the late George and Maude (Little) Kennedy. Charlie loved country and western music especially playing the songs of his idol, Hank Snow. He wrote many songs and produced two CD's in his later years. He thoroughly enjoyed the musical jams at the Jemseg Lion's Club but mostly embraced making music with his family. Survived by his loving wife Alice (Rodgerson) Kennedy; sons, David (Sandra) of Douglas Harbour, NB, Gary (Sharon) of Durham, NB and Larry (Tory) of Elmwood, PEI; daughters, Iris McCoy (Ron) of Sheffield, NB, Brenda Colwell (Daniel) of Maquapit Lake, NB, Joan Stacey (Scott) of Portland, Maine and Louise Cook (Ken) of Fredericton, NB; brothers, Hazen (Eileen) of Cumberland Bay, NB and Ronald (Gail) of Minto, NB; sister, Irene McEwen (Jimmy) of Salt Springs, NB; 24 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Charles was predeceased by a daughter, Barbara Allen; brothers, Raymond, Fred and Lowell; sisters, Hazel and Mildred. Resting at the Minto Funeral Home (327-3490) with visiting on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. Funeral Service will be held 2:00PM Friday, May 8, 2009 from the Scotchtown United Church with Rev. K. Ruth Stuart officiating. Internment will take place in the Scotchtown Cemetery.
