NEIL ALVIN BARBER
BARBER, NEIL ALVIN Neil A. Barber of Maple Ridge, NB passed away May 20, 2009 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Neil was born at Maple Ridge in 1923, a son of the late William and Dora (Richards) Barber. He was a lifelong resident of Maple Ridge where he farmed for a living. Neil worked for one summer at Kings Landing and for several years, together with his wife Ethel, was employed at Mactaquac Provincial Park. He was a member of the Maple Ridge Wesleyan Church and served for many years on the church board as well as being a Sunday School teacher and superintendent. Neil is survived by his children, Carolyn Thompson (Robert), Maple Ridge, NB, John Barber (Millie), Moncton, NB, Edith Daniels (Daryl), Ada LeGassie (Robert), both of Quispamsis, NB and Walter Barber (Karen), Maple Ridge, NB; his grandchildren, Patti, Paula, Donald, Angela, Tanya, Jason, Carla, Matthew, Erin, Jessica, Justin, Erica, Brandon and Courtney; his great grandchildren, Dana, Danielle, Alexandria, Brooke, Trevor, Crystal , Teegan and Emma great great grandchild Dakota a special friend, Lucy Morgan, Hainesville, NB and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Ethel (Ingraham) Barber, a brother Everett Barber and a sister, Ellen Graham. Visiting hours will be held at the Maple Ridge Wesleyan Church, 1125 Route 605, Maple Ridge on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at the church on Saturday, May 23, 2009 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Wayne Blinn officiating. Interment will follow in the Maple Ridge Cemetery.
