VELMA BLAIR
BLAIR, VELMA Velma T. Blair of McAdam passed away May 25, 2009 at MacLean Memorial Hospital, McAdam. Born in 1926 at St. Croix, NB, she was a daughter of the late John and Helena (McElwain) Taylor. Velma was a member of the McAdam Curling Club, Friends of the Station and a local craft group of special friends. She is survived by her three children, Dennis Blair (Peggy), St. Croix, Stephanie Smith (Wayne), McAdam and Gary Blair (Alice), Fredericton; four grandchildren, Tanya Davis (Sean), Fredericton, Eddie Blair, McAdam, Stacey Cawdle, Oromocto and Nicole Grant, St. Croix; nine great grandchildren, Breanna and Tyler Pike, Wetaskiwin, AB, Kamdyn and Lauryn Cawdle, McAdam, Caleb, Carter and Cohen Davis, Fredericton and Brandon and Shaelyn Grant, St. Croix; a sister, Mary Madore, Augusta, ME; sisters-in-law, June Charters, McAdam , Helen Tracy, McAdam, and Violet Stright (Donnie), Cape Tormentine; brothers-in-law, Robert Blair (Norma), McAdam, Russell Blair, McAdam and Wayne Blair, McAdam; several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, Velma was predeceased by her husband, Alfred Russell Blair; a granddaughter, Michelle Pike; three brothers, Ken McElwain, Don Taylor and Wally Taylor. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at Rockland Drive United Baptist Church, 30 Rockland Drive, McAdam. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2009 at 2 p.m. from the church with Pastor Scott Kohler officiating. Interment in Rockland Cemetery.
