GEORGE JOHN DICKINSON

DICKINSON, GEORGE JOHN George J. Dickinson of Scott Siding, NB died June 8, 2009 at his home. He was 93. Born at Scott Siding, he was the son of the late Clarence and Violet (Grant) Dickinson. George was employed with CP Rail for 35 years and worked in the family sawmill. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. George is survived by two sons, Hayden Dickinson of Ontario and Greg Dickinson (Teresa) of Scott Siding; two daughters, Brenda Sisson of Perth Andover and Ann Grant (Greg) of Miramichi; sixteen grandchildren; twenty four great grandchildren; one brother, Harvey Dickinson of Fredericton; one sister, Ethel Munroe (Eugene) of Ontario; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Mary C. (Keilty) Dickinson in 2004, one brother, Clifford Dickinson and one sister, Iva Dudley. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday at the St. Thomas Catholic Church, 14 Mill Street, Canterbury from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at the church on Thursday morning, June 11, 2009 at 11 a.m. with Celebrant Father Brian Wetmore. Interment in St. Thomas Cemetery. For those who wish to make a donation in memory of George, the family has suggested the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
