Marie (Carmichael) Cameron, 75, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2008. Born in Tarbot, Victoria County, C.B., she was the daughter of the late Archie and Margaret (MacPhee) Carmichael of Ben Eoin. Beloved mother and grandmother, she is survived by sons, Michael (Linda) Stewart; daughters, Cindy (Al), Claire (Larry), Virginia (Mark); 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by brothers, Bernie (Louise), New Waterford, Rod of Florida, Jack (Margie), and Archie; sisters, Flo Johnston, Dena (Donald) Johnston, Phyllis (Ron) Youden, all of Sydney, and Carol (Danny) MacLellan, East Bay; sister-in-law, Charlene, Ontario. She will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Marie was also predeceased by husband, Palmer Cameron, New Waterford, brothers, Elmer and Roy, grandson, Christopher of Ontario, brother-in-law, Willie Johnston and sister-in-law, Connie Carmichael. Marie was an avid painter, reader and amateur genealogist, spending many hours researching her family history. A service will take place at Aliston, Ont., on April 25. Cremation has taken place. Interment will take place at a later date. Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Spina Bifida Association.
