McBEAN, MAY RUTH It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of May Ruth McBean on July 24, 2009 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Ruth was the wife of the late Eugene Arthur McBean. Born on April 4, 1924 in Campbellton, NB, she was one of ten children born to the late Elizabeth (Wiseman) and Frederick LeTourneau. Ruth is survived by her four children, Barbara Simmonds of Fredericton, Rita Nason (Gary Jochelman) of Fredericton, Gregory "Greg" McBean of Hampton and Nancy Collett (Brian) of Fredericton. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, Marla, Shawn, Todd, Jamie, Christy, John, Scott, Jody, Melissa and Cory; fourteen great grandchildren as well as brother-in-law, Harry McBean (Eva) of Fredericton. Ruth was predeceased by an infant son Daniel. Mom and Dad made wonderful memories while raising their children in McAdam. Besides being a homemaker, she was a member of St. Paul's United Church, the UCW and the Ladies Auxillary, Branch No. 7. She was an avid bowler and loved playing cards with her friends. She enjoyed baking, reading, walking, knitting mittens and socks for her grandchildren who she enjoyed spending time with. Her great grandchildren always had a special place in her heart. Visitation will take place at St. Paul's United Church, McAdam on Monday, July 27 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. A funeral service celebrating her life will be held at 2:00 PM officiated by Rev. Ellen Beairsto. Interment will take place at Rockland Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons Todd Nason, Scott Lockhart, Shawn Simmonds, Cory Lockhart and sons-in-law Brian Collett and Gary Jochelman. Honorary Pallbearers will be Marla Simmonds, Melissa Lockhart and Christy Weatherbee. For those who wish, donations may be made to St. Paul's United Church, McAdam Railway Station Restoration Project or to a charity of one's choice.
