WARD, MARION JEAN (MOOERS) Marion Jean Ward (nee Mooers) passed away peacefully in Halifax, NS on July 18th, 2009. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Aubrey, and their children Tim, Tony, Peggy and Steve (of Calgary, Saint John, Mississauga and Brentwood Bay). She is also survived by two sisters Doris (Bob) and Maxine (of Scarborough ON and Glens Falls NY), and had one brother Hector (now deceased). Marion was born in Campbellton, NB on February 10th, 1933 to Samuel and Flora Mooers (nee Goss). She spent most of her youth and early married life in the Maritimes, finally in Fredericton where her children began their schooling. Then, in 1968 she moved with her family to Alberta, and for 30 years she made Calgary her home. During that time she took great pleasure in her work with Sears Canada and then with the Government of Canada. She and Aubrey retired to Halifax in 1998 where she passed much of her time preparing for a favorite pastime: taking Caribbean cruises with her family. Her favorite destination was a tiny white-sand island in the Bahamas known as "Half Moon Cay". Marion's ashes will be interred in The Hermitage Cemetery in Fredericton, NB. She was very much loved and will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
