HAIRE, SAMUEL JAMES The passing of Samuel James Haire of Fredericton, NB, husband of Marion (Jones Stairs) Haire occurred on Sunday, August 2, 2009 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on June 11, 1933 in Whitby, ON, Samuel was the son of the late David and Anne (Swan) Haire of Ireland. He retired as a Personnel Manager for General Motors in Oshawa, Ontario. Samuel was an avid hockey fan and player. His favorite team was the Chicago Blackhawks and enjoyed playing cards with his family and friends. In addition to his wife, Samuel is survived by his son, Jimmy Haire of Newcastle, ON; two daughters, Lynda Olliffe (Guy) of Newcastle, ON, and Lisa Allen (Josh) of Fredericton, NB; four grandchildren, Makenzie, Tegan, Sam and Kai; one brother, David Haire (Betty) of Perth, ON and friend, Eric White. In addition to his parents, Samuel was predeceased by his sister, Madeline Carducci. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton on Monday, August 3, 2009 from 7 to 9 pm. A Memorial Service will be held at York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at 2 pm with Pastor Richard Bragdon officiating. Reception will take place in the Fireside Room following the service. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Kidney Foundation or to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
