ELSIE I. MYSHRALL
MYSHRALL, ELSIE I. (1922-2009) Elsie I Myshrall died on July 31, 2009 at the Doctor Everett Charmers Hospital following a brief illness. The daughter of Guy and Louise Hawkins of Douglas, NB, Elsie was born on January 3, 1922. After attending schools in Saint John and Douglas, she went to Fredericton High School. Elsie trained as a bookkeeper in her father's business, G.W. Hawkins Fruit Company Ltd. In 1939, Elsie married Richard N. Hallett. Together they built a prosperous farm, joining with Richard's brothers and Elsie's brother Ronald in the mid-fifties to form Hillcrest Farms Ltd. where Elsie was bookkeeper until Richard's death in 1965. In 1972, while employed again as bookkeeper at Wood Motors in Fredericton, Elsie married fellow employee, Ed Myshrall. Over the years, Elsie and Ed operated Appelot Farm and Appelot Bed and Breakfast where Elsie greeted guests with her wonderful homemade jams and jellies. Elsie loved the vacation travel trailer life she and Richard had discovered. She and Ed continued the tradition with caravan trips to Mexico and Florida, retiring to Florida in the winter months for several years until 2001. Following Ed's death, Elsie moved from Appelot to join friends in Donnie Clark's McKnight Street apartments until entering York Manor in 2008. Elsie is survived by daughter D. Marilyn (Watson) Williams, son Ronald D. (Bonita F.B.) Hallett, daughter-in-law Shirley (Richard) Hallett, grandchildren Lisa, Melody, Joy, Leigh, Scott, and Matthew; great-grandchildren Caleb, Samuel, Anna and Joshua; sister Louise Borland; brother Ronald Hawkins; sister-in-law Barbara (Warren)Hawkins and several nieces and nephews. The family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff at York Manor for their care, concern, and attention these past months but also to the doctors, nurses, and other health professionals who cared for Elsie while in the Charmers Hospital last summer and at the time of her death.
