MACDONALD, LENA M. At the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Tuesday August 4, 2009 Lena M. MacDonald of Fredericton, NB passed away at the age of 82. Born in Lower Hainesville, NB, she was a daughter of the late Cleveland and Beulah (Nason) Clark, and wife of the late Allan H. MacDonald. Lena, in her younger years, loved fishing and hunting. She was also an avid bowler, enjoyed knitting, gardening, playing darts and playing cards. She thoroughly enjoyed socializing with people. Lena was a member of the Marysville United Church; the Royal Canadian Legion # 15 Ladies Auxillary and was a bartender at the Marysville Legion for a number of years. She is survived by one son Ronald Goodine and his wife Annette (Chiasson) of Fredericton; one daughter Ruth Goodine and her husband Murray McFarlane of Holtville; two grandsons Tom Goodine (Kyla Abernethy) of Fredericton and Todd Goodine of Fredericton; two granddaughters Janet Neilson (Mike Prendergast) of Edmonton, Alberta and Lynn McKeen (George) of Upper Kingsclear; three great grandchildren Jennifer and Andrew McKeen and Matthew Goodine; two sisters Evelyn Thomas (Clarence) and Idella Smitz both of Ontario; three step-daughters Vera O'Donnell of Fredericton, Pauline Hatfield (Arthur) of Mactaquac, Noreen Horncastle (Eugene O'Neill) of Tracy; ten step-grandchildren Debbie Gilby (Leonard), Valerie Sawler (David), Derek Hatfield (Patianne), Hal Hatfield (Barb), Tammy Hatfield (Kirk), Brian Horncastle (Bonnie), Bev Horncastle, Terry Horncastle, Cindy Roussie (Randy), Troy Horncastle (Vivian); several step great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by two brothers Moody and Norman Clark; five sisters Nellie Campbell, Edith King, Kate Gilmore, Elsie Hunter and Lois Thomas. Resting at Bishop's Funeral Home 540 Woodstock Road with visitation on Wednesday form 7-9 pm and Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held at Bishop's Funeral Home on Friday August 7, 2009 at 11:00 am with Rev. Murray McFarlane officiating. Interment will be held at the Marysville United Church Cemetery. Contributions to the Marysville United Church or a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family. A Women's Auxillary branch # 15 of the Royal Canadian Legion will hold a tribute on Thursday evening at 6:45 pm at Bishop's Funeral Home.
