SWAN, MATTHEW SPENCER The passing of Matthew Spencer Swan, of Fredericton, NB, occurred on August 15, 2009 as a result of a motor vehicle accident. Born on August 8, 1989, he was a son of Beverly Swan and Lubyca Gyuk (Michael Hennessy). Matthew worked for Dynex Manufacturing as a Fitter. He was a member of St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church. Matthew enjoyed hockey when he was younger, motorcycles and spending time with his family and friends. Besides his parents, he is survived by brother, Nick Swan (Meghan Cunningham) at home; step-brother, Josh Hennessy; maternal grandmother, Patricia Gyuk; paternal grandfather, Cecil Swan; paternal great grandmother, Lottie Messer; uncles, Charlie (Joanne) Swan, Sandor (Elizabeth) Gyuk, Phillip (Tarah) Gyuk; aunts, Isabel Vienneau (Larry) and Dianne (Danny) Currie; several cousins. Matthew is predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Sandor Gyuk and paternal grandmother, Irene Swan. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at 11:30am with Father Aaron Knox as celebrant. Interment will take place at St. Anthony's Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances made to the IWK Hospital or the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
