James (Jimmie) Robert Beaton

1944-2008 We regret to announce the sudden passing of Jimmie, April 21, 2008, due to an accidental fire. Born in Glace Bay, Jimmie was the son of the late Ernest and Elizabeth Beaton. Jimmie was employed with Nova Scotia Power. He was a faithful volunteer fireman with the Tower Road fire hall for 20 years. Jimmie is survived by his spouse of 22 years, Barbara Campbell; also daughter, Margaret Anne Beaton, Calgary, Alta.; and son, James Beaton, Toronto, Ont.; brother in-law, Donald Ferguson and his children, Ontario; and several half-siblings. He will be sadly missed by his constant companion Morgan, his nine-year-old boxer; and also his many friends and neighbours. There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Patten Funeral Home, 71 Union St., Glace Bay, 849-7520. There will be a reception Saturday, April 26 from 1-3 p.m. at the Tower Road fire hall.
