PICKLE, ROLAND D. Passed away at the Oromocto Public Hospital on Sunday, August 16, 2009 at the age of 80. Born in Springfield, Kings County, NB, he was the younger son of John and Gertrude Pickle. He was an employee of NB Power for nearly 43 years, and a member of Zetland Lodge No. 24 F. & A.M., Shediac Cape, NB. Roland is survived by his wife of 53 years, Ella Mary (Stairs); one daughter, Linda Hill of Moncton, NB; two granddaughters, Anita and Jessica Hill of Milton, ON; one brother, Frank H. Pickle (Betty) of Springfield, Kings County, NB; one sister, Louise Mercer of Hampton, NB; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sons, Kevin and Brent Pickle; and one sister, Marion Allaby. A gathering for family and friends will be held at McAdam's Funeral Home, 160 York Street, Fredericton, NB on Friday, August 21, 2009 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm, with scriptures and prayers by Rev. Brian MacDonald and nephew, Rev. David Mercer at 8:00 pm. Interment to follow at a later date at the Maplewood Cemetery, Petitcodiac, NB. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Wesley United Church, Lincoln, NB or another charity of your choice.
