BAKER, GILBERT (GIL) JOSEPH June 11th 1960-September 4th 2009 With family by his side, Gilly passed away September 4th 2009 at St. Stephen Hospital. Born in Coles Island, NB, he was the son of the late George and Emily Baker, and is predeceased by his close sister Bianca Proudfoot. Gilly battled a chronic lung disease throughout his life that, although, often took his breath away, did not demolish his spirit, his sense of humor, his strength. Gil's character and memory is reflected in his amazing photography, various projects, his two elusive cats Max and Ozzy and his survivors. Gil is survived by sisters, Alison Baker (Jeff), Deedee Baker (John) and Bonnie Darrah (Ted); brothers, Brett Baker and Chuck Baker (Joyce); brother-in-law, Charlie Proudfoot; nieces, Maddison Proudfoot and Courtney Baker; and nephews, Taylor Proudfoot, Jason Darrah and Travis Baker. A celebration of Gil's life will be held at The S.O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home Ltd., 23 Main Street, St. Stephen, NB on Wednesday, September 9th, 2009 at 7 pm. Family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6 pm to 7 pm. In lieu of flowers, his family please asks to send donations to the Lung Association or your local SPCA/ Humane Society. "Today is the day to raise a glass and drink it all in!
