HAYES, ORICK HUGHIE The passing of Orick Hughie Hayes of Fredericton, NB, husband of the late Verna (Derouche) Hayes occurred on Saturday, September 26, 2009 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on May 30, 1927 in Millville, NB, he was the son of Goldie Jordan. He worked as a logger and trucker for many years. Orick enjoyed puzzles, whittling and liked working on cars. Orick's main enjoyment was hunting. Orick is survived by his four sons, Marvin Hayes (Eleanor Sherwood) of Fredericton, Allan (Stella) Hayes of Benton, Orick (Ada) Hayes of Kingsley, Edward (Colleen) of Benton; three daughters, Mary Leighton of Benton, Sally (Allan) Costain of Benton, Rosalee Hayes of Fredericton, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Monday, September 28, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at 2 pm with Rev. Harold Jenkins officiating. Interment will take place in Maple Wood Cemetery.
