BOUCHER, ALEXANDER Alexander Boucher was born in Duck Bay, Manitoba in the year of 1919. He is predeceased by his parents, Pierre Boucher and Virginia Genaille and by his first wife, Mary Paul. Survived by his wife, Carmel (Paul) Boucher, son, Scott and wife Shannon Paul and daughter Carol Paul, one step-daughter and five stepsons; five grandchildren, Jeff (Ruth Anne), Kim (Wayne), Maxine (Hubert), Rossy (Shelley) and Artie and a host of great and great, great grandchildren. Alex was a veteran of the 2nd World War and the Korean Conflict. He fought with the Essex Scots during the 2nd World War and the R.C.R. in Korea. He was wounded at the Battle for the Hockwald forest in Germany. Alex did a lot of volunteer work in his day. He was in scouting for 15 years where he was known as Mr. Kub Kar. He built Kub Kar Race tracks for almost every pack in the district and was also in charge of the Kub Kar racing. He coached little league baseball and was also involved with Meals on Wheels for a number of years. Alex and his wife Carmel were honoured as volunteers of the month in 1988. Alex was also a member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch #4, the R.C.R. Association and the Korean Vets Association. His family would like to thank everyone who has been there to support him during his struggle with dialysis especially the Saint John Regional Dialysis Unit and also the nurses of the Dr. Chalmers Regional Hospital on the 4SE unit. He will be resting at, 45 Polchies Court, St. Mary's First Nations on Tuesday and Wednesday; funeral services will be held at St. Anthony's Church on Thursday October 1, 2009 at 11:00 am with Father Monte Peters officiating. Interment to take place in the St. Anthony's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to the Kidney Foundation and the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated by the family.
