ESTEY, MURIEL GRACE It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Muriel Grace Estey of Zealand on Sunday November 1, 2009 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Born on February 27, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Hartley and Nellie (Allen) Brewer and the wife of the late Carl Estey. Muriel is survived by her son, Ivan (Sheila) Estey of St. Johns, NL; daughters, Judith (Simon) Guest of Holmesville and April (Philip) Sexsmith of Fredericton; three grandsons, Matthew, Michael and Mark Guest; five great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Muriel was the last surviving member of her family and was predeceased by her brothers, Ernest, Carney, Hazen, Eugene and Russell Brewer, and her sisters, Florence Merrithew, Helen Lawrence, and Ruby Morehouse. She also leaves to mourn numerous faithful and loving friends. Muriel will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and aunt, and a welcoming friend and neighbour whose door was always open. She was a devoted member of St. Paul's Anglican Church, Zealand where she was an active fixture for most of her life. She was a charter member of St. Paul's Guild and lent her accomplished quilting skills to many of their projects; and also served on the Altar Guild. Muriel was honoured to be a recipient of the Diocesan Sesquicentennial Award of Merit from the Diocese of Fredericton. Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 3rd from 2 pm to 9 pm; and Wednesday, November 4th from 10 am to noon at the Anglican Parish Hall, 1405, route 104, Zealand. Funeral service will be held at St. Paul's Anglican Church, 1407 route 104, Zealand on Wednesday, November 4th at 2 pm, the Ven. John Sharpe officiating. For those who wish to make a donation in Muriel's memory, the family has suggested either the St. Paul's Building or Cemetery Fund, or the donor's charity of choice.
