JOYCE (BISHOP) CLARKE
CLARKE, JOYCE (BISHOP) The death of Joyce (Bishop) Clarke, age 84, of Amherst, formerly of Collingwood, NS, occurred at the White Birches Retirement Residence on Saturday, November 7, 2009. Born in Wyvern, NS, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Gwendolyn (Colbourne) Ford. A veteran of World War II, she served in the CWAC from Feb 1944 to June 6 1945 in Kitchener, ON. In the early 50's she cooked in logging camps for large numbers of woodsmen and enjoyed cooking for the rest of her life. A member of the Collingwood United Church, she was a lifetime member of the UCW. A person of varied interests, she enjoyed hunting, fishing and snowmobiling with her first husband Reginald and shared another life with her second husband, Denny Clarke attending many community functions. Joyce will be sadly missed by her two sons, Paul (Jennifer), Oxford and Jack (Janet), Cornwall, ON; a daughter, Wendy (Richard) Densmore, Fredericton; four grandchildren, Pamela, Michael, Marlene and Sarah; two great grandchildren, Kaci and Tristan; three step-sons, Terry (Sandra), John (Donna) and Scott (Jean), all of Halifax; a step-daughter, Debbie (Brian), Halifax; eight step-grandchildren, Michelle, Christopher, Corey, Bo-Daniel, Nicole, Daniel, Luc and Denis; brothers, Ronald (Fran), Murray (Joan), Merlin (Iona) and sister, Brenda (Arnold) Adshade. She was predeceased by husbands, Reginald Bishop (1974) and Denny Clarke (2009); sisters, Eleanor and Joan. The remains have been cremated under the direction of the W. Allen Funeral Home, Oxford (902-447-2167). A memorial service will be held at the Collingwood United Church, on Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at 2 pm, Rev. Ruth Gamble officiating. Burial in the Wyvern Cemetery. By request there will be no visitation.
