MACKENZIE, ALMA Alma MacKenzie, 93, of Hartland passed away on Monday, November 16, 2009 at the Central Carleton Nursing Home in Hartland. Alma was born March 15th 1916 and was the daughter of the late Arthur and Fannie (McLeary) Hovey. Besides her parents, Alma was predeceased by her husband, Donald MacKenzie, infant daughter, Edwina; sisters, Lillian Sweezey, Mabel McLaughlin; brothers, Don Hovey and Clayton Hovey. Alma is survived by nieces and nephews, Donna Hawkes, Wanda Black, Ron Hovey, Fred Hovey, Glendon Hovey, Eugene Gillen, and Harold Gillen. Alma was a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #24. Resting at the Britton Funeral Home, High Street, Hartland with visiting hours on Wednesday, November 18th from 1:00 - 1:50 p.m. At 1:50 p.m. a Ladies Auxiliary Legion Service will be held at the Lorne Britton Memorial Chapel followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Hartland.
