VIOLET PEARL HOLLAND
HOLLAND, VIOLET PEARL The passing of Violet Pearl (Stickles) Holland, wife of the late Howard Holland, of Fredericton, NB, occurred on Saturday, November 28, 2009 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on September 17, 1922 in Woodland, NB, she was a daughter of the late Amos and Maggie Jane (Wilkens) Stickles. Violet was a member of Greenwood Drive Baptist Church and member of the Barker's Point Senior's Club. She worked at Bonar Packaging for several years. In addition to her involvement with the senior's club she enjoyed bingo and doing crosswords. Violet is survived by one daughter, Linda Brewer (Eric) of Estey's Bridge, NB; four sons, Douglas (Betty) of Nasonworth, NB, John (Margaret), Donald (Brenda) and Earl (Marilyn) all of Noonan, NB; grandchildren, Heath (Sandy) Brewer, Mark (Jennifer) Brewer, Jonathan (Katrina), Matthew, Gregory, Joel (Christina) and Nick Holland; great grandchildren, Brett, Ethan, Shawn, Rachel and Paige; one brother, James Stickles of Fredericton, NB; one sister, Laura Davidson of Woodland, NB; special sister-in-law, Annie Harris; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a grandson, Dwayne Brewer; brothers, Earl Stickles and Garfield (Pauline) Stickles; sisters, Myrtle and Viola Stickles, Inez Crockett (Joe), Gussie Curtis (Lyman) and Evelyn Sherwood (Donald); brother-in-law, Howard Davidson. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton on Tuesday, December 1, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from Greenwood Drive Baptist Church on Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at 2 pm with Rev. Paul Thompson officiating. Interment will take place in Woodland Cemetery, Woodland, NB. For those who wish, remembrances made to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
