MILES, ROBERT DOUGLAS The death of Robert Douglas Miles occurred suddenly on Saturday, December 12, 2009 on the Islands of Turks and Caicos at the age of 44. Born in Fredericton, he was the son of the late Jack Wayne Miles and Beverley (Haining) Chamberlain. He is survived by his stepfather Gordie Chamberlain of Bathurst; uncle Brian Douglas Miles; cousins Rick Miles and Barbara Estey of Fredericton. Rob grew up in Bathurst where his father owned and operated Miles Tire Ltd., later Sumner Tire Ltd. Rob graduated from Bathurst High School in 1984 and went on to become an entrepreneur, owning Golden Sands in Bathurst along with many other businesses in New Brunswick. Rob worked and lived on the Islands of Turks and Caicos during the last 10 years and loved to be by the beach. He was a lover of animals and cared for many pets throughout his life. Rob will be remembered for his love of life, his kind heart and a gentle smile for his friends. Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date.
