LEOLA "ALTHEA" FRASER
FRASER, LEOLA "ALTHEA" The death of Leola "Althea" Fraser of Fredericton, NB, occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Friday, December 18th, 2009. Born in Prince William, NB she was the daughter of the late Harold and Ethel (Brown) Fraser. Althea worked as a Civil Servant in Ottawa, ON and in Fort Smith, NWT for many years and was a world traveler, having visited many different countries. Everyone welcomed an invitation to Althea's house because she was well known for her cooking and entertaining skills. When living in Ottawa she was also very active with St. Timothy's Church. Once she moved to Fredericton, she continued her faith with the Women's Group at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church and the Devon Senior's Group. Althea also enjoyed sewing and painting. Survived by two sisters, Lorena Boyce of Fredericton and Hazel Cosman of Fredericton; one brother, Gerald Fraser of Fredericton, and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents; brothers, Douglas and Eldon. Visitation will be held at McAdam's Select Community Funeral Home on Monday, December 21st, 2009 from 7 to 9 pm and Tuesday, December 22nd from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009 at 2:00 pm at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church. Rev. Doug Blaikie will officiate. Interment will be held in the Fredericton Rural Cemetery at a later date.
