HOWLAND, DOUGLAS RAYMOND The passing of Douglas "Doug" Raymond Howland of Fredericton, NB, husband of Edith (Barton) Howland occurred on Thursday, December 30, 2009 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on May 5, 1918 in Bear Island, NB, he was the son of the late William and Carrie (Currie) Howland. Doug was a woodsman, farmer and a custodian at UNB. In addition to his wife, Doug is survived by daughter, Debbie Howland and son, Philip Howland both of Fredericton, NB; nephew, Keith Jones of Hainesville, NB; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Doug was predeceased by his sister, Hazel Jones. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Friday, January 1, 2010 from 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Saturday, January 2, 2010 at 2 pm with Rev. George Feenstra officiating.
