GRACE MARGARET WAYCOTT (TAYLOR) NEE ASTLE

WAYCOTT (TAYLOR) NEE ASTLE, GRACE MARGARET After a courageous long term battle with cancer, with her family at her side, the passing of Grace Margaret Waycott of Fredericton, NB, wife of James Waycott occurred on Saturday, January 16, 2010 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on May 12, 1925 in McGivney, NB, she was the daughter of the late Eldon and Nettie (Palmer) Astle. She was a member of the Marysville United Church. Grace was a Telegraph Operator for CN and then worked at Zellers for 28 years. Grace loved spending time with friends, family and her beloved dog "Charlie". In addition to her husband, Grace is survived by her son, Fred Taylor (Marjorie) of Fredericton, NB; her daughters, Karen Karnes (Darrell) of Bridgetown, NS, Sandra Coates (Stephen) of Halifax, NS and Janet Estey (Jack) of Fredericton, NB; eight grandchildren, Dana, Shauna, Jennifer, Janice, Jason, William, Jillian and Jenna; eight great grandchildren; step son, Russ Waycott (Debbie) of Pictou, NS; several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and first husband, John Ardene Taylor, Grace was predeceased by her sisters, Irene Cowie, Alma Calhoun and Elva Phillips and brothers, Tom, Mason, Arnold and Wendall Astle. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Monday, January 18, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at Marysville United Church on Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at 2 pm with Rev. Nancy Ritchie officiating. Interment will take place in Marysville Baptist Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Chalmers Foundation - Palliative Care Unit or the Canadian Cancer Society. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
