PICKARD, DOROTHY SOPHIA Dorothy S. Pickard of Nackawic passed away February 1, 2010 at Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Born on June 17, 1916 at East Waterville, York Co., NB, she was a daughter of the late David and Violet (McHatten) MacFarlane. She is survived by a son, Larry Pickard, Nackawic; a daughter, Priscilla Stairs (Howard), Lincoln; a sister, Ida Carson (Paul), Nackawic; six grandchildren, Jeff Pickard (Krista) and Trina Myshrall (Brian), both of Millville, Valerie MacPherson (Keith), McAdam, Angela Prime (John), Nasonworth, Dr. Heather Stairs, Oromocto and Timothy Stairs (Stacey), Sussex; thirteen great grandchildren, Zachary and Devon Pickard, Jennifer and Michael Myshrall, Kathleen, Fraser and Karyn MacPherson, Craig and Curtis Prime, Caleb Stairs, Laura, Daniel and Grace Stairs; sisters-in-law, Flossie MacFarlane, Temperance Vale, Joan MacFarlane, Millville, Doris MacFarlane, Alice MacFarlane and Maudie MacFarlane all of Fredericton and Gladys MacFarlane, Keswick; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Abraham (Bud) Pickard in 1996; an infant daughter, Elizabeth; two sisters, Nina Morrison (Bill) and Edith MacFarlane; seven brothers, Perley, Merle (Kay), Robert (Helen), Harold, George, Paul and Gerald MacFarlane. Visiting hours will be held at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 4, 2010 at 2 pm with Rev. Paul Thompson officiating assisted by Rev. Bob Johnson. Interment will be later at Otis Cemetery.
