SAVOY, ROMEO JOSEPH - Unexpectedly at The Fundy Health Center in Blacks Harbour, N.B., on December 14, 2001, Mr. Romeo Joseph Savoy, husband of Anita M. (Daigle) Savoy of Blacks Harbour. Born in Newcastle, N.B., on December 11, 1939, he was a son of the late Peter and Suzanne (St. Coeur) Savoy. A loving husband, father and grandfather, Romeo is survived by his wife; two daughters; Barbara Ann and her companion, Shawn Quinlan of Blacks Harbour; Tanya and her companion, Burton Urquhart of Utopia, N.B.; three grandchildren; Kenneth, Tyler and Paige; five brothers: Eugene (Terry), and Alexander (Dianne) both of Blacks Harbour; Roger (Lynn) of Sussex, N.B., Michael (Sherri) of Pennfield and Peter (Isabelle) of St. George; one sister, Agnes, Mrs. Clayton McVicar of St. George, N.B., and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by three brothers; Gilbert, Raymond and Louis and one sister, Muriel Comeau. Romeo was an avid outdoorsman who especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed playing cards with his family and friends. Romeo was also a machinist by trade. Prior to his retirement, he had been employed with P.R.W. Fabrication in St. George for twelve years and Connors Brothers for a number of years prior to that, Romeo will be sadly missed by his family as well as all who knew him. Resting at the St. George Funeral Home, 26 Portage St. (755-3533), St. George, N.B., with visiting on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 11 AM at Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church in Blacks Harbour followed by interment in the church cemetery.
