Kathleen 'Kaye' (nee Chordis) McRae
Date de naissance : 6 février 1939
Date de décès : 11 mai 2008
It is with sadness we announce the passing of Kaye McRae, Sunday May 11, 2008, after a brief but fierce struggle with cancer. She died valiantly at home surrounded by her family. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her husband, Daniel; children, Ken (Margie), Mark, Morgan (Sandra), Kathy (Dave); and her grandchildren, Rachel, Megan, Meadow, Zachary and Avery. Dear sister to Alex and Anne. Reunited in the Lord’s presence with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Chordis, her brothers, Weldon and Robert, and her sister, Viola. Born Feb. 6, 1939, in Birch Grove, N.S. Losing her mother at only three months of age she quickly learned to be a homemaker to a father and three brothers who were all coal miners. She moved to Toronto at the age of 17, where she met and married Daniel McRae (formerly of Glace Bay) and raised four children. She brought smiles to many faces as she served up coffee at Tim Hortons for 18 years. She loved to play bingo and the ‘slots. She enjoyed spending time around the kitchen table with friends and family. She spoiled her grandchildren rotten with treats from her purse and an endless supply of gifts. They loved her and will always remember Grandma’s macaroni and cheese, kisses, hugs and laughter. Friends may call at the Turner & Porter Peel Chapel, 2180 Hurontario St. (Hwy. 10, N of QEW), Thursday, May 15 from 6-9 p.m. A Service of Remembrance will be held in the chapel Friday, May 16 at 3 p.m. If desired, donations to the Salvation Army would be appreciated by the family.
