Robert 'Bobby' Alexander Morrison
Robert ‘Bobby’ Alexander Morrison, 89, passed away peacefully at home in St. George’s Channel, with his family at his side. Born in Seaview, he was the son of the late Donnley and Lottie Morrison. A veteran of the Second World War, he served in Canada for three years. He was a farmer, woodsman and worked for CNR until his retirement. He served as a volunteer for the Black River Cemetery for quite a few years. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 47 and the Masonic Lodge. Bobby enjoyed life to the fullest, gardening, fishing, working in his garage, dancing, spending time with his family and was a man of deep faith. He loved telling stories. He had a great love for his pets. Keisha was his latest animal friend who was at his side. Bobby’s memory will be cherished by his loving wife of 20 years, Emily (Murry, MacInnis); stepchildren, Helen Gould (John), Alma, N.S., Florence Thomas (Allan Farrell), Grand Mira South, Catherine Dorton, St. George’s Channel; grandchildren, Heidi Gould, Courtney and Kirk Dorton; sisters, Rena MacDonald, Richmond Villa, and Mary Ann Monan, Halifax; nieces, Joan MacLeod, Karen Dempsy, Debra Robinson, Alice Ann Menzer; nephew, Alexander (Junior) MacDonald; and many grandnieces and grandnephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Forence (MacRae), brother, John, sister-in-law, Dolly (Dolena Cameron), brothers-in-law, Alexander MacDonald and Ernest Monan. Visitation will be Thursday, May 15, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the River Bourgeois Funeral Parlour. Funeral service to celebrate Bobby’s life will be held in the Black River United Church, Friday, May 16 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Sheldon LeGraw officiating. Burial at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Strait Richmond Hospital, Black River Cemetery Fund or charity of your choice. Family flowers only. The funeral is under the direction of the Alex A. Morrison Funeral Home, St. Peter’s.
