Kitchener, Ont./ Dominion April 28, 1944-May 11, 2008 Elizabeth (Betty Lou) Ann (nee MacPherson) McLeod, formerly of Dominion, Cape Breton). After a courageous battle with lung cancer, it is with great sadness that we announce Betty’s passing on May 11, 2008, at the age of 64, at Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, surrounded by her family. Survived by her beloved husband, Michael, of 42 years. Loved mother of Angus (Gert Hartmann) and Bonnie Jean (Christopher Usas). Dearest Nana of Brooklyn and Eric. Daughter of the late Donald and Genevieve MacPherson (Saccary) and predeceased by her sister, Mary Catherine. Betty will be sadly missed by her sisters, Ellen and Patricia, Ontario; brothers, Donald and Billy, Dominion, and Jim, Ontario; and her many nieces and nephews. For over 30 years, Betty worked for the Congregation of The Resurrection, was a member of the CWL, the CYO and worked with special needs children. Betty will be resting at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener (519-749-8467), where her family will receive relatives and friends Wednesday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral mass celebrating Betty’s life will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 49 Blueridge Ave., Kitchener, Thursday, May 15, 2008, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Grand River Regional Cancer Centre, the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of your choice would be appreciated. Special thanks to Dr. Kontakos, Dr. Ward, Dr. Hubay, the CCAC team and the volunteers and nurses of the Grand River Regional Cancer Centre and Freeport Hospital whose compassion and kindness will always be remembered.
