79, New Waterford It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret Knight, Wednesday, May 14, 2008, at the Northside Guest Home, surrounded by her loving family. Born in New Waterford, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Mary (Steele) Davies. In her early years, Margaret worked at Sam Claener’s Grocery Store and MacKeigan’s Bakery. For many years she was an Avon representative and a longtime member of the CB Radio Club (Raggedy Ann). She also enjoyed bowling, camping and spending time with family and friends. Margaret is survived by daughter, Cynthia (Freeman) MacPherson, Sydney Mines/Sarnia, Ont.; son, Bryan (Frances) Knight, Stellarton, N.S.; grandchildren, Paul Knight, Chris Knight, Joanne Morse, Pamela MacPherson; great-grandchild, Ally Knight; and one brother, Harold (Joanne) Davies, California. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Herbert and a brother, Thomas. Visitation for Margaret will take place Saturday, May 17 from 7-9 p.m. and Sunday, May 18 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at McLellan Brothers Funeral Home, 3183 Plummer Ave., New Waterford, N.S., 862-7500. A funeral service to celebrate Margaret’s life will be held Wednesday, May 19 at 2 p.m. in the Salvation Army New Waterford Citadel, 519 King St., New Waterford, N.S., with Capt. Cyril Keats presiding. Burial will be in Union Grove Cemetery, Scotchtown. Donations in Margaret’s memory may be made to the Salvation Army New Waterford Citadel.
