Point Edward Stuart Wayne Herald of Rudderham Road, Point Edward, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2008, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, surrounded by his family. Born in Point Edward, Aug. 8,1944, he was the son of the late Stewart Herald and Helen (Rudderham) Herald. Stu will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather and left a wonderful legacy behind in his children and grandchildren. He was employed by Sydney Steel Corporation for years before opening his own business. He was an active sportsman and he turned his passion into a family business, Brad's Outdoor Adventures before retiring in 2002. Stuart is survived by his wife, Barbara (Merchant) Herald and his four children, Craig, Westmount, Brad, Calgary, Suzanne (Byron) Rogers, Sackville, and Lynn (Stephen) Unsworth, Point Edward. He is also survived by his three grandchildren, Ashley, Haley and AJ. There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 19 at Sydney Memorial Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cape Breton Regional Hospital Foundation (area of greatest need).
