71, Christmas Island James Joseph George, who was born on Sept. 29, 1936, in Hyannis, Cape Cod, Mass., the son of the late James and Margaret (MacNeil) George, died peacefully on Thursday, May 22, 2008, at the Palliative Care Unit ‘An Cala’ in the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Jimmy was a U.S. Naval veteran. He was self-employed as a fisherman for a number of years. He also was employed in boat building in the Cape Cod area. He is survived by his wife, Theresa (MacKenzie) George; sons, Gary and Barry; brother, Herb; nieces, Peggy, Kendra and Correne and nephew, Charlie. Visitation for the late Mr. George will take place Sunday, May 25 at St. Barra’s Church from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated Monday, May 26, 2008, at 11 a.m. in St. Barra’s Church with Rev. Charles Donovan officiating. Interment in the parish cemetery. Donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit ‘An Cala’ at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
