1966-2008 Glace Bay/St. George, N.L. It is with great sadness that we, the family announce the sudden passing of Brian on Wednesday, May 21, 2008, at home, at the age of 41. Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of Calder Chant and the late Carol Chant (Phillips). He was employed at Kentucky Fried Chicken and most recently at Price Chopper in St. George, N.L. He was also a member of United Baptist Church, Glace Bay. Brian was a country traveller and enjoyed hockey and baseball. Brian is survived by his companion, Deanne; daughter, Laura Lee; son, Brian; sisters, Pam, Glace Bay, Marlene (Ian), Alberta; brother, Gary (Lori), Glace Bay; nieces, Jennifer Jillian, Nicole and Kim; nephews, John James and Justin. Cremation has taken place. Visitation for the late Brian Chant will take place Monday, May 26, 2008, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Patten Funeral Home & Chapel, 71 Union St., Glace Bay, 849-7520. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 27, 2008, in the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m. with Pastor Gary Dillon officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery.
