62, Albert Bridge It is with deep sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Bruce Allen, which occurred Tuesday May 27, 2008, at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in South Bar, he was the son of the late Wilson and Emma (Campbell) Allen. He was an antique gun smith and a pewtersmith. He was employed at the Fortress of Louisbourg for many years. Bruce was the founding member of the Fortress of Louisbourg volunteer militia, spending many hours volunteering with the fortress as well as enjoying fishing and being outdoors. Bruce is survived his loving wife, Margaret (Pentecost) Allen; two sons, Troy (Martha), St. Peter’s, Kyle (Amber), Westmount; the apple of his eye, his special grandson, Caelin; sister, Iris; brother, Donnie. Visitation will take place Thursday, May 29, 2008, at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held 3 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Church, Albert Bridge, with Fr. Patrick O’Neill officiating.
