Sister Mathilde Roach, in religion, Sr. Marie Pierre-Vincent, passed away Friday, May 30, 2008, at 553 Elmwood Dr., Moncton, at the age of 90. She was in the 62nd year of her religious profession. Born April 26, 1918 in Chéticanp, N.S., she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Anastasie (Luedee) Roach. Besides her religious family, she is survived by two sisters, Jeanne Deveaux and Thérèse LeBlanc, both of Chéticamp, N.S.; several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by three sisters and five brothers. Sister spent the greater part of her life as a nurse. She studied nursing, then took post-graduate nursing in surgery and technology, and finally studied care of tropical illnesses. This enabled her to serve as a nurse in Québec, Montana, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, and Colombia, in Latin America. Remains rested Sunday, June 1 from 2 p.m. at 553 Elmwood Dr., Moncton (Vice-Provincial House of Filles de Jésus) from where the funeral mass will be celebrated in the chapel, Monday, June 2 at 10:30 a.m. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Frenette Funeral Home, Moncton 506-858-1900, www.frenettefuneralhome.com.
