34, Sydney It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that we, the family, announce the sudden passing of Patrick Joseph Mulrooney, Saturday May 31, 2008, at home. Born and raised in Dunville, N.L., he was the son of Francis and Judy (Carroll) Mulrooney. Paddy spent most of his adult years with many friends and family in Sydney, N.S. Paddy worked and lived in Cape Breton over the past 17 years. He is survived by his loving wife, Cara (Legge) Mulrooney; daughter, Leaha; parents, Francis and Judy Mulrooney; father-in-law, Derek Legge (Linda Stone); mother-in-law, Darlene Sparling (Colby MacInnis); grandparents, Paddy and Nellie Carroll; brother, Frankie (Sherlaine Collins); sister, Colleen (Jody Merriam); sister-in-law, Kayla Sparling; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins; and one special godson, Tristen Kehoe. Paddy was predeceased by his grandparents, Francis and Angela Mulrooney, aunts, Sharon, Fatima, Rita and Kit, his uncle, Jimmy and sister-in-law, Denise Legge. Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 3 at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney from 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 4 at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home Chapel, with Fr. James Oliver officiating. Reception to follow. Family flowers only.
