After a long wonderful life, it is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Isabel Ann Aucoin (Aucoin), on Friday, June 6, 2008 surrounded by her loving family. Her generous and warm loving nature made her the heart of our family for 84 years. Born in St. Joseph de Moine, November 3, 1923, Isabel was the daughter of the late Henry and Mary Aucoin. Isabel was a member of St. Joseph's Parish, Reserve Mines. She was a kind and loving mother and grandmother who lived her life to the fullest. She enjoyed dancing, card games, bowling and time spent with her family and friends. Isabel is survived by her five children, Arlene (Brian) MacDonald, Byron “Marco” (Elizabeth), Wendell (Marie), all of Reserve Mines, Shawn (Diane), Tanglewood and Lisa (Fred) Penny of Sydney. She left behind her pride and joy, her 12 grandchildren, Amy and Jonathan MacDonald, Scott, Jamie and Bradley Aucoin, Rochelle (David Hachey), Jeff and Shauna Aucoin, Nicole Aucoin, Christopher, Jillian, and Amanda Penny. Also, surviving are brothers, Dominic, Alphonse, Leonard and Arthur Aucoin and wives; sister, Germaine Baylis; sisters-in-law, Rita O’Donnell, Christine Aucoin, Mary MacDonald, Elizabeth Aucoin; brother-in-law, Wallace (Theresa) and friend, Tom Lamey and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband, Patrick “Paddy”; brother, Francis and sisters, Mary MacIsaac and Sabine Leforte. Visitation for the late Isabel Aucoin will be held Sunday, June 8th, 7-9 p.m., Monday, June 9th 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve Street, Glace Bay. A funeral mass will be celebrated 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 10th at St. Joseph’s Parish in Reserve Mines with Rev. Gerald Campbell officiating. Interment will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Reserve Mines. Donations may be made to St. Joseph's Cemetery Fund or charity of your choice.
