78, Glace Bay Allan Patrick (Bull) Holloway, 78, of 61 School St., Glace Bay, passed away Friday, June 13, 2008. Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late Walter and Mary Holloway. An avid fisherman and hunter, he enjoyed the outdoors with family and friends. He was a miner in the Caledonia Pit until joining the military. Throughout his almost 25 year military career, he was stationed in Halifax, Borden, Greenwood and Gagetown, with tours in Germany and Egypt. Bull was also an active member of the Canadian Legion, Branch 3, Glace Bay. Bull is survived by his wife of 58 years, Shirley (McLean) Holloway; children, Clarence (Marie) Holloway of Glace Bay, Gregory (Liz) Holloway of Edmonton, Debbie (John) Woods of Waterloo, Donna (Joe) Beshara of Dartmouth, Patricia (Cecil) Holloway of Edmonton, James (Cheryl) Holloway of Glace Bay and Dianne (Robert) Holloway of Glace Bay. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Linda, Ryan, Jason, Jennifer, Cory, Brian, Brin and Jamie and great-grandchildren Riley, Aiden Allan, Michael Allan, Emma, Olivia and Noah. He is also survived by brother, Stan Holloway, Dominion; sisters, Viola (Steve) Fedoric and Shirley McIntyre, Corner Brook. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Roscoe and George Nicholson and Melvin, Walter, Thomas and baby Tommy Holloway, and sisters, Uita Kublec (nee Nicholson) and Margie Pushie (nee Holloway). Visitation for the late Allan Patrick (Bull) Holloway will be held Monday, June 16, 2008, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Curry Funeral Home, 775 Main St., Glace Bay. Funeral service will be celebrated Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Fr. Conrad Edwards officiating. Donations in Bull’s memory may be made to the Glace Bay Palliative Care Unit.
