61, Sydney It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Art Campbell which occurred Friday, June 27, 2008, at the Glace Bay Healthcare Complex, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Sydney, he was the son of the late James and Easter Mae (Jones) Campbell. Art was a chef by trade. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, spending time with and cooking for his family and playing his infamous bass guitar. Art is survived by his loving wife, Donna (MacKinnon); daughter, Erma (John) McLaine, Calgary, Alta.; sons, Shawn (Karen), Kenneth (Tracy), Brent Lee (Fran), all of Sydney; sister, Lillet Tasco, Dartmouth; brothers, Irvin (Judy), Ottawa, Patrick (Rachel), Sydney; eight grandchildren, Shawn Christopher, Brently, Mitchell, Nicholas Kingston, Kiara, Koby, Susan and Jordyn; one precious great-grandson, Rashawn; as well as aunts, an uncle, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Rudolph ‘Bunny’, Milward ‘Bricky’ and brother-in-law, Bob Tasco. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 2 at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home Chapel, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney, with Pastor Sheldon Chant officiating. Interment to follow in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens. Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or charity of choice.
