1904-2008 It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Annie Mae MacAskill on Tuesday, July 1, 2008. Annie Mae was born in Glace Bay in 1904 to John and Mary Graham. She lived in Glace Bay for a number of years and married Daniel MacDonald (deceased). Annie moved to Halifax after she married Donald MacAskill (deceased). She was well known in both Sydney and Glace Bay and was well loved and respected by all who knew her. Annie was known to be very witty and a charming lady. Annie Mae leaves to mourn her sister, Minnie MacMullin. She was also survived by numerous nephews and a special niece, Lucy Grant, Caurtenay, B.C.; and very special friend and companion, Korena Sparley. She was predeceased by sister, Decie Grant, brothers, Harold, Graham, John ‘Bunny’, Cecil and Ray. Visitation for the late Annie Mae MacAskill will take place Thursday, July 3 at Patten Funeral Home & Chapel, 71 Union St., Glace Bay, 849-7520, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place Friday, July 4 at Knox United Church, Glace Bay, at 2 p.m. with Rev.
