Joan Patricia Mercer
Passed peacefully away, surrounded by her loving family, at St. Patrick's Mercy Home, after a courageous battle with Parkinson's Disease, on June 30th, 2008, Joan Patricia Mercer (Turner) age 73 years. Leaving to mourn her loving husband Leslie T. ; Sons: Paul (Sheila), Herbert (Colleen), William (Dr. Deborah) and Augustus (Andrea); daughters: Yvonne Pope and JoAnn Woodland (Paul); twelve loving grandchildren; brothers: William, Frank Sheehan (Marilyn) and Thomas Sheehan; sisters: Gertrude Dalton (Edward), Yvonne Oates (Edmund) and Agnes Power (Jerome); brother-in-law Ralph (Yvonne); sisters-in-law: Charlotte, Marion Nugent and Elizabeth McIntyre; as well as many other relatives and friends. We wish to sincerely thank the staff of St. Patrick's Mercy Home for their care, kindness and professionalism. Cremation has taken place. Visitation at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Ave., on Wednesday from 10 a.m.- 12 noon, 2 p.m.- 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.- 9 p.m. and on Thursday from 10 a.m.-12 noon. Funeral service to take place 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 3rd, 2008, from St. Michael And All Angel's Anglican Church. Interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Field of Honour. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Parkinson's Association of Nfld. and Labrador or to the Shriners' Transportation Fund.
