John McMullin

We, the family of the late John McMullin, regret to announce his sudden passing, July 10, 2008, at his home in St. Peter’s. Born in Dominion, he was the son of the late Michael and Catherine (Campbell) McMullin. He was predeceased by brother, Mickey (Lorraine). He is survived by his daughters, Karren and Cheryl and brother, Jim (Dianne) McMullin and sisters, Phyllis (the late Tom Boutilier), Dominion, Carol (Bob Wry) Moncton, Arlene (John Barren) Greenwood, Lee (Ed Kelly) Halifax, Bernadette (Donald Murphy), Chesincook (??) He was also survived by many nieces and nephews. He received his early education at Macdonald High School in Dominion, then went on to St FX University where he received his bachelor of science degree. He graduated from Ryerson University, Toronto, with a degree in public health. He worked many years in Port Hawkesbury with the Environment Department, retiring in 2004. John was an avid reader who enjoyed woodworking and spent many hours fishing at St. Peter’s Canal. He was also an active member of the community coffee club. Visitation will take place at River Bourgeois Funeral Home, River Bourgeois, Sunday, July 13 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be held at the St. Peter’s Catholic Church, St. Peter’s, at 2 p.m., Monday, July 14 with Rev. Everett MacDow officiating. Interment will take place at St. Eugene’s parish cemetery in Dominion. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Alex A. Morrison funeral home, St. Peter’s.
