49, North Sydney It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Darlene Parsons Russell of North Sydney. After a courageous battle with heart disease, she left us suddenly on Sunday, July 20, 2008. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Hawley) Parsons. She leaves behind her husband and best friend, Hartley Lafosse; daughters, Sherry (Arthur), Alison and Amanda (Ryan); granddaughter, Haley; brothers, Doug (Sharon) Parsons, Wayne (Sandy) Parsons, Carl Parsons, Tim (Liz) Parsons, Cecil (Jean) Parsons, Joe (Cecilia) Parsons; sisters, Donna (Greg) Podetz, Violet Haycox, Valerie (Jerry Hines), Phyllis (Harry) Yurczyszyn; sister-in-law, Donna (Bill) Carroll; brothers-in-law, Dave (Elizabeth) Lafosse and George Lafosse; many nieces and nephews and close friends. She was predeceased by her sisters, Alice, Bertha, Marie and mother and father-in-law, Lucy and Hartley Lafosse. We would like to send a sincere thank you to the nurses and doctors of the Halifax Infirmary who helped Darlene along the way. Visitation for Darlene will be held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Thursday, July 24 in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney. Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m., Friday, July 25 at St. Joseph Church, North Sydney, with Rev. Jim Attwood officiating. Burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Sydney.
